Nov 11 - Be Obedient and Recieve His Blessing

"If they obey and serve Him, they will spend the rest of their days in prosperity and their years in pleasures. But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword and they shall die without knowledge.” Job 36:11-12 (KJV)

We as a people tend to follow the rules that are prescribed by man. We do this because of the known consequences. We obey the speed limit, we pay our taxes, and we make sure we take the trash to the curb on the correct day. As children, we obeyed our parents because of the known consequences. However, what I have come to realize is that when it comes to obeying and trusting GOD, we tend not to do as well in the obedience area.

GOD has provided us an ability to receive our provision from the work He has called us to do. GOD made a covenant with his people that provision would always be there if we were faithful to his commands.

Operation Transformation is a life-changing opportunity for us to receive a lifetime blessing. As we journeyed through Operation Transformation as a body it became clear that our faith was being challenged. There have been several campaigns at GBC before and we participated at a good commitment level – but at the same time a comfortable level (something we knew we could handle). Then came Operation Transformation with a prayer journal, twenty-four hour prayer vigils, fasting, personal testimonies, healing and restoring. It was time to stretch.

As we stretched our faith, it became even more evident the provisions that were in store. He doesn’t provide until we have the courage to take action. God can do anything but fail. Another part to the blessing is God works in His own time. God’s promises are true, but His timing is not the same as ours. As we began to trust God for our provisions and our commitment we came across many obstacles – some so great that we wondered if we were really doing His will. We persevered in our obedience, faith and trust and continued the journey.

Prayer Focus: Stretch your faith, take action, He will provide.
