"Then God said, Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about.” Genesis 22:2(NIV)
There are times when one will be put to a test and one must depend on God no matter what. Keeping one’s mind on spiritual things is very important to God. Also, be the first to step to the plate without asking questions or demanding answers. Stay focused and see what God can accomplish through a positive mind. No one will ever know how and when God moves in the midst of a storm, but he performs miracles behind the scene. Abraham’s faith was tested by God, and he passed his test. As the Bible reveals, Isaac lived because of the ram in the bush.
Three points to remember from this scripture are:
Abraham did not question God.
Abraham was obedient.
Abraham was faithful.
Exercising your faith and believing in the word pleases God. Therefore, stand firm, remain faithful, and continue to trust God. According to Hebrews 13:5, God said”I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Prayer Focus: When your faith is tested, pray that you will be able to stand and pass your test. Pray that every test will make you stronger, eager, and determined to do God’s will, patiently and gracefully. Pray that fear will never engulf your mind, body, and soul when God gives you a king-sized task. Pray that we remember that Abraham moved on faith, and he moved forward, not backward. Ask God to keep you willing and ready to say, “Yes, Lord.”
