“Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish, one hundred and fifty-three; and although there were so many, the net was not broken. Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.” John 21:11-12a
How refreshing it is to come home after a hard day’s work and find a cooked meal waiting, prepared especially for you by a loved one! Jesus not only gave the disciples a miraculous catch of large fish, but He also had breakfast waiting on shore - prepared and ready to eat.
Just as Jesus greeted the disciples with “Come and eat breakfast,” He teaches us to come to Him to meet all of our needs. He asks us to come to Him for all of the provisions of our faith – our health, families and finances to name a few.
We have successfully embarked on “Operation Transformation” and are now fulfilling our financial pledges. This cannot be our only focus during this campaign. Just as Jesus had allowed the disciples to drag the net and fill it with so many fish, this is still our commission. We are to be just like the disciples; until the return of Jesus, our task should be to remain with the fish (new Christians) so none are lost.
We are spiritual refreshed as we daily read the Word. Awakening to God’s love and care each morning is the best spiritual appetite we can have to start our day.
Prayer Focus: Pray daily for an increase of the unsaved to become saved so our “net” will be filled and never broken in spirit for the love of Jesus Christ. Pray that our stewardship of talent, time and finances will continue to be pleasing to God throughout this campaign.
